Nevada Woodchucks is excited to begin a new partnership with the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH).

What are we planning?

Our first project will be a nightstand caddy, a small wooden organizer for items such as eyeglasses, a cell phone, pens, and notepaper.

We anticipate hosting up to four veterans, some of whom use wheelchairs or have other physical limitations. Our goal is to make woodworking accessible and enjoyable by adapting the project to each veteran's abilities. Some participants may do much of the woodworking themselves, while others may work with partially prepared components. The important thing is that everyone has an opportunity to participate meaningfully and take home something they've helped create.

Each veteran will be paired with a Woodchuck instructor and will be accompanied by NNSVH staff members or support personnel.
