Member Benefits

The shop is open during workshop times and by appointment.

We have six – Special Interest Groups (SIGs): Toys, Lathe, Scroll Saw, Tools and Techniques, Carving, and Digital Workshop. Members attend and participate in the groups of their interest. We are dedicated to teaching the skills of woodworking, by classes, projects, and demonstrations, with safety and participation.

Shop Location -

You can find us at:

405 Western Road #36, Reno, NV.

We are in a large collection of commercial shops in big steel buildings. We are on the far end of the 2nd long building.

Toy Group

The Toy group meets every other Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and every other Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and makes the toys we give away every Christmas. You can learn a broad range of skills making the toys. They use Table Saws, Routers, planers, drum sanders, band saws, scroll saws and hand tools. This is a good place to start for someone who wants to learn general woodworking and even toy painting.

Lathe

The Lathe group meets on the third and fourth Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and works on various projects and the instruction is individualized.

Tools and Techniques

The TNT (tools and techniques) meets on 3 and 4th Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. TNT’s goal is to provide guidance and skills training to the members in the techniques required to complete wood projects which includes the safe use of various power & hand tools.

Scroll Saw

The Scroll saw group meets every other Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. (Same Wednesday as Toys)
