Good morning and welcome to July/August newsletter.
I know I will be happy when we get some cooler temps be
cause the fans just blow my hot air around.
I would like to thank all of you that have paid your dues for this year. It
helps to keep our shop open. I would also like to encourage all members that have not paid their dues please do so asap.
July was a busy month. We did the Sparks Art walk and had our
yearly BBQ. Thank you to all who helped & participated.
The lathe Sig has been busy making over 40 bowls for our contribution for the Sparks
13th Annual Empty Bowl event, a benefit for the community food pantry. I am hopeful we can make this a yearly event.
The VA program that Mary has been working very long and hard on to get off the ground, is
moving forward but at a snail’s pace. It now looks like the first class will
be towards the end of September.
Also, in September there will be a class on how to build/make a bandsaw box.
The toy group has been busy too. They have over a thousand toys completed and bagged. That
very impressive because their attendance is down about 50%. So, if any
one has the time to help the toy’s Sig, I’m sure they would love it.
I noticed the TNT Sig has been making a nice cabinet with drawers that’s
worth looking at, but only ask about the two missing drawers if you
dare.
One last thing we still have some tools and misc. stuff for sale at
the club house.  Please  take a look, make an offer and take it home.
Let’s make sawdust.
